Why I Started My Signature Investing Course, Peaceful Profit Through Investing
Dec 01, 2023As-Salaam-Alaikum everyone! Welcome back to Muslim Women Invest.
Today, I am going to share something super special. We have just wrapped up enrollment for this round of my signature course, Peaceful Profit Through Investing.
This is my foundational course for those who want to begin investing, and I am so proud to be able to share it with all of you. However, I wanted to give some insight into why I started this investing program...and why I believe it's the best course out there for beginning investors to get their foot in the door!
Give Beginners Confidence
Firstly, I started this course so I could give beginning investors the confidence they need to take their first steps toward financial independence.
When you are a beginner investor, it is extremely important for you to be able to hold your mentor’s hand at the start. You have to have a connection with that person, which means—in my opinion—that the course needs to be live.
However, when you search for live courses, you’ll notice that most of them are very short-term. There are very few, if any, in-person investing programs that go on for months. And even if you can find a short in-person investing program that will teach you how to day trade, they’re very expensive. If you want one with a reputable instructor, they are often thousands of dollars.
That throws this kind of education out the window for most people, because most people don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on going somewhere to sit through a conference. It’s just not feasible.
This is the number-one obstacle that I see people run into when trying to start investing, which is completely natural, because it’s not intuitive for us to take a risk like this, especially if we do not have a financial background.
Knowing this, one of the big motivations I had for starting my own course was to offer the chance for people to have consistent contact with their mentor. It makes sense to me that in order to build confidence, you need to be able to speak to your instructor on a weekly basis, maybe even multiple times a week. I can promise you that if you do multiple meetups with your instructor for ten to twelve weeks, you are going to be in a much better position to take action on whatever they have taught you.
I also think it's mandatory that this kind of course be affordable, considering that it’s made for beginners.
Building Community
The next thing I want to discuss is the need for community.
If you buy a pre-recorded, self-paced course, you often won’t have the community aspect included in this process.
Why is this necessary? Because otherwise, it’s you against yourself. With a self-paced course, you already have to discipline yourself and ensure you allot a certain amount of time to actually go through the course.
That is difficult enough. But in addition, if you do not have the community—which means there aren’t other people doing the course with you—and you do not have a live instructor who is going through the course with you multiple times a week, it is nearly impossible to keep on track.
We are social animals. There's a reason why my investing program has such a focus on accountability, because it's easier to stick with something if we are doing it as a group.
In my opinion, if there is no community piece to a program, then it is a poorly executed and poorly strategized course. That is my two cents.
Options for the Muslim Community
The final inspiration for starting my own investing program is to give the Muslim community more opportunities to learn.
I personally lost thousands of dollars by paying people to teach me to invest, because they taught methods that I couldn't use as a practicing Muslim.
There are so many things in the finance sector that Muslims are absolutely prohibited from doing. Two things that come to my mind immediately are option trading and short selling, both of which are absolutely prohibited in Islam, but are highly sought-after with many day traders because they can make you a lot of money.
However, both of these avenues are high-risk. You could make a lot of money with them, but you could also lose a lot of money.
Both of these are prohibited according to the Sharia. But many investing mentors don’t teach according to those principles.
Because there are so few options for Muslims in the world of day trading, I feel that we need our own mentors. And I personally feel that even though we are not allowed to take these riskier trades, it is Allah's way of helping us against ourselves. Because if we were to get overconfident, we could lose everything.
Join the Waitlist!
In my opinion, these are the three biggest issues with most investing programs out there. Knowing this, I have tried to address all three in the creation of my own investing program, Peaceful Profit Through Investing.
While enrollment is currently closed, the waitlist is open! The link to get your name on the waitlist is below for you to get ready to join me for the next round.
